European dewberry (Rubus caesius)  is a small shrub growing up to 150 cm. It is in flower from May to September, and the seeds ripen from August to September.  The species is hermaphrodite, so the plant is self-fertile.

The fruit can be used for making jellies and juices and the fresh or dried leaves are used for tea.
